While the primary way to join our team is through our open searches above, we are always willing to consider motivated trainees who are passionate about our research themes. Advice and funding opportunities for different groups of prospective candidates are listed below. Please contact Dr. Judson and provide a cover letter, CV, and names of two references.
Postdoctoral Researchers: We recommend looking for dedicated funding sources; a good resource is the Hopkins database. International postdocs with a current affiliation in certain countries may consider the UCLA GloCal Fellowship (we have collaborations in Ghana and Cameroon).
Infectious disease fellows are encouraged to apply to the research track of the UCLA Infectious Disease Fellowship and indicate their interest in our group.
Residents: We consider applications from UCLA residents for research rotations and have projects related to emerging infectious disease epidemiology, QI, and medical education.
Medical students: We consider applications for research rotations and discovery year projects from UCLA medical students.
Graduate students: Potential opportunities for collaboration and co-mentorship exist with our partners at UCLA depending on the graduate program you are accepted into.
Undergraduates: Volunteer opportunities exist for motivated UCLA undergraduates, which could lead to potential additional opportunities with the USRP and URFP programs.
