Developing risk maps of emerging viruses

Translational Modeling of Vector-borne & Zoonotic Viruses

Recent outbreaks of zoonoses such as Ebola virus disease and COVID-19 have demonstrated the need for improving predictions for resource allocation and outbreak preparedness. Therefore, we created a collaboration with national researchers and policymakers in Cameroon to integrate local knowledge into predictions for emerging viruses, enabling research to be translated into policies that may limit future outbreaks.

Creating evidence-based One Health/planetary health tools

Medical Education in One HeaLth/Planetary Health

Planetary health and One Health remain incompletely integrated into clinical medical education. We created a series of case studies called “Medicine for a Changing Planet,” geared towards training the next generation of health professionals in clinical skills to detect and manage the impacts of global and local environmental change on their patients.
